Hey if you gys check out NBC at 1:30pm they are showing the Reebok Grand Prix. Last year at this meet Bolt ran a 9.72 to set a new world record in the 100 meters.
(He is not running this year) But Gay and Wariner are along with a bunch of others.
Also I am debating taking a road trip down to the State Meet next Saturday. If anyone is interested in checking it out let me know. - Coach Mike

saw the reebok grand prix and kenny recorded it so if you didnt get a chance to watch it, talk to kenny.. its also great because you can fast forward to the good part of the 5000 and re-watch all the crazy fantasy football commericals.
ReplyDeletethought that lj was crazy and so did not see a lot of the winners. kenny told me a bunch of facts about usain bolt and how he used to run the 400, then went to the 100, and is now considering going back to the 400.
really reminded me of road tripping days to los angeles to watch a meet and watched jacka$$ on the way down..
and argh on saturday's meet, going to be in cal working on saturday until 3pm. let me know if anything exciting goes down!!
and i asked kenny and he didn't know if there was going to be any elite meets in california any time soon... anyone know?
Pretty much the Adidas track classic is it for California. US Championships require a roda trip to Eugene Oregon.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the Reebok Grand Prix, the best part of the meet was not even mentioned. Tyson Gay in the 200. 3rd fastest time ever.
Here is how weird the 200 is like 10 guys have run 19.6x; 0 guys have run 19.5x; 0 guys have run 19.4x; 2 guys have run 19.3x and those times are 19.32 (By MJ) and 19.30 into a headwind so should be much faster by Usain Bolt.
